LPC is At "Live Bold & Bloom" Today

Today I am at Live Bold & Bloom, writing about, How To Live Boldly When You Are Scared As Heck. Something I may understand, for a change.

Barrie, the blog's author and a career and life coach, did me the honor of asking for a guest post. She and I did a workshop with Leo Babauta and Mary Jaksch on blogging. It was a very good experience.

So please take a look at Barrie's blog, if you would. One caution - I rely on my life story for this post, and I have told these details before. My apologies. If I could invent a new life to have lived, I might do so. However, as I have said before, this is as true as I can make it. Barrie, thank you very much for this opportunity.

Well said Lisa!

I enjoy your writing immensely and fear?
I would not have factored that into the equation... I think you are one brave woman, your life so far, is a testimony to that.

I love that photo too...red shoes and all...is that you?

Wonderful post at Live, Bold & Bloom.
While I think that fear can sometimes keep us from action, it can also be a great motivator.

Thank you for the post. I did not know that all about you. I appreciate your honesty. I admire your enthusiasm. I could not do that. I feel strongly that you care about us others. You are there, you are available. Thank you Lisa!

"Ask yourself, do I really want to do it? If the answer is yes, go ahead."

And more times than not, it's just that simple!

Thanks, great post :-)

Hi Lisa,
Thank you so much for your beautiful post on my blog! Someone here asked if the photo was of you. When I saw those red shoes and dress with that little girl marching forward with such determination, I thought it was the perfect image to go with your story. It could be you! Keep marching Lisa. Your fear hasn't held you back yet.
Hugs,
Barrie

Haven't even read your whole guest post yet, but - I hadn't realized you were at the University while I was at the high school, same exact years. So you remember Princeton as I remember it.

I was there again taking a course/using the Art History library in the late 90s (well, Firestone also again, natch, but it's different), and things had changed. Haven't been back since...I know that by then, PJ's had changed hands, and Landau was on its last legs, the Eric Garden wasn't Eric anymore...I think Bellows was gone...and more. So weird.

I just want you say, you all are the nicest, best readers ever. Anywhere. Thanks. And Someone, yes, Princeton, and Landau's where we bought pink and green raincoats.

Hi Lisa! I read through your blog, looking for the answer, why you are at home at the moment. I found some postings, a year back.
At the moment, are you trying to kick off your own business? Or are you looking for an employment? Or did you already start you business, did you start business writing?
Did I overread the posting where you posted the answers to my questions? Sorry, somehow I feel like I need to fill this void.

It's easy to become immobilized by fear, but if you don't look too far ahead it makes life more manageable. Keep your horizon short.

I can't wait to read this. I am in a difficult transition time now, and I'm weary, and I'm often afraid - but I've been coached enough to know that fear should be my signalpost to "I want." More good reading and hearing the tales of others is always a blessing.

I late, as per usual, busybusybusy BREATHE. But this was really really excellent. I'm going to say what my grandfather was known for saying. I know you've heard it already, but I think it deserves repeating... most weeks of my life, for example. He always said, "Only an idiot isn't scared. Being brave is being scared and then doing it anyway." He had a purple heart, and was a prisoner of war for 2.5 years, along with surviving a lot of things that he shouldn't have survived. He knew a thing or two about being brave.

I'm scared sometimes, and anxious most of the time. Anxious sounds like a little word, but basically, it's not. I do have a tendency to just hurtle towards what seems the most terrifying though, which seems to work out well... most of the time.
