What Moms Like Best, Or, Saturday Morning at 9:07am

My daughter came home for Mother's Day. Flew all the way from New Jersey to California. Happy mom. Thank you daughter. Son is working hard in college. Happy mom. Thank you son.

I wish all of you a happy day of mothers, in whatever way that means something to you. I'm having breakfast at my kitchen counter, waiting for the familiar sound of my daughter's bedroom door opening, and the familiar sound of her bare feet on our wood floor.

Thank you everyone! The noises our kids make when happily occupied and we aren't the source of entertainment are the best:). I hope I was a good mom. I hope I am a good mom. We all do, right? And we try our hardest.

When the familiar sounds and rhythms of the house become the exceptional, we experience Mother's Day so differently, with deep gratitude for their presence. I'm at that time too. So happy for you.

I'm so glad your daughter came home! I've got 2 daughters here. Both down one son. Hmmmm, what does this say? Probably not much, just that our boys are busy with school.
Happy Mother's Day!

Hi LPC! I hope you enjoy mother's day with your daughter's company. Here in Europe it is already late, before midnight. I had a nice day meeting my mother, sister, brother in law, nieces, nephew, father ... It was fun, I even sat at my mother's vintage Husqvarna, sewing covers for vintage chairs, made of antique linens from my mother's mother. She enjoyed seeing me sitting there in the place where she sat while I was still a baby. In moments like that it is hard to believe how adult the daughters became.

I am sure you had flashback-moments of this kind today with your daughter, too!
Enjoying mother's company, doesn't it feel good!

Visiting and hard-working children are the very BEST things about being a middle-aged mom. Well, that and grandkids. :)

I hope you had a fabulous Mother's Day!
